A Journal of 2008 in Exactly 120 Pictures.
Saturday, January 3, 2009 5:44Alan Taylor’s The Big Picture (Boston.com) has a great photo gallery up since the 17th of December covering various events of 2008, from world events to sports, from glory and celebration to death and despair. The gallery, simply titled “The Year 2008 in Photographs,” is a collection of 120 photos in three parts of 40 photos each, as sampled below.

29 January 2008. The Guizer Jarl (man with axe in silhouette) and his Viking Squad during the annual Up Helly Aa Festival. (Photo by Carl de Souza/AFP/Getty Images)

8 August 2008. These are not Oompa-Loompas working on chocolate bars. These are drummers from the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. (Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images)

15 November 2008. What remained of some 600-800 homes in the Oakridge mobile home park after burning in the Sylmar, California fire. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)
So many events, so few cameras to capture them. If every single snapshot of every single great moment could be caught on film (or some memory stick), what a tale would that be.

Roanna: May goosebumps talaga, lalo na dun sa binubuhat na katawan nung batang namatay. I’m already planning to buy a new camera this year!
