Whapakk Weekly Soundtrip 10.
Saturday, May 9, 2009 12:3510. The Killers - Human. Mr. Flowers ain’t gay. His name just sounds like it, but really, he’s a cool guy. Yes, he is! Salute! Are we human, or are we dancer? FYI: Most dancers are human.
9. The Presidents of the United States of America - Lump. Okay, I’m not sure if I got the song meaning right; it sounds like a fun song being upbeat and all but, well, he sounds like he’s talking about a dead girl. Chilly chili shit!
8. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody. Last week’s #1 crashed to #8 simply because I got a bit tired of Caleb Followill’s whiny voice; it lost its appeal to me as a song-on-repeat material.
7. The Gaslight Anthem – The ‘59 Sound. “Young boys, young girls, ain’t supposed to die on a Saturday night.” Chilly chili shit! Great vocals, great arrangement.
6. Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue. All hail the head-bobbing track from Pineapple Express! Salute! Did you know? Green iguanas bob their heads after scaling to rim of tub when done with bath. (Says Melissa Kaplan’s Herp Care Collection.)
5. Jason Mraz – The Dynamo of Volition. Mraz is a freak songwriter. He dished out another groovy tune with this song, reminiscent of his previous hits, Curbside Prophet and The Remedy (I Won’t Worry). Great song, salute!
4. Dicta License - Alay sa mga Nagkamalay Noong Dekada Nobenta. If anything, it’s an anthem for my generation. Frontman Pochoy Labog cries, “Kumilos na mga ubing, hukayin ang nakalibing na alay mo!” Maybe because it’s yet another stand against apathy that I’ve been drawn to it again?
3. The Killers - Spaceman. See #10. Weird video, nice song, salute!
2. The Offspring - You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid. Poppy, upbeat song. What I like most about the song? The line, “Now dance, fucker, dance!” Yes, that’s enough to bounce the song up to #2.

Dadalhin kita sa bahay, di tayo mag-aaway.
1. Mayonnaise - Jopay. My companion for most of my office soupas episodes this week was this song. Thanks to Mayonnaise, I now think Jopay is cuter than Lia Cruz. Thank you, oh stupid song. Salute! Next week’s sabaw trip: the Cheeky Girls’ The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum). Oh yeah, salute! Goodbye Kings of Leon! (Just talking about the #1 song got me soupy-headed again. I’m gonna go eat lunch now. Ciao.)
(Every weekend I’ll be posting the top 10 most played tracks on my playlist just because. Should you want to hear the songs, I’ve got a Last.fm widget somewhere on the sidebar to the right where you can likely listen to the songs I’ve recently played and probably a handful of the tracks listed above.)
