Fontana Family Trip.
Monday, May 11, 2009 2:18Was out the whole day yesterday; family decided they wanted to go on a trip to Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Pampanga, and for me it was a choice between going online for all the usual stuff or joining the trip and taking a lot of photos. I decided to go for the latter.
And so, I’m back. I’m tapping my photoblog, Mercury, for the full photo updates; I renamed it and you can now find it here: http://shootdelay.juddstamaria.com. For all purposes, it’ll be referred to here as Shootdelay from now on. However, since I still don’t own a camera, I’m limiting the updates (there) to exactly one photo a day. Should you want to see all the photos I’ve taken yesterday (I’m still in the process of editing most, though) in one go, you can check out my Flickr set.
We got there before lunch, around 11 o’clock in the morning. Lunch wasn’t ready; good thing my aunt’s contact person there approached and handed me a can of beer. Swell. Everyone was waiting for lunch and I was up and about shooting pictures like crazy, with a can of beer in one hand and my mom’s camera in the other.
The kids couldn’t wait to plunge into the pools, so they decided to spend the next hour or so swimming while waiting for our rooms. Me? I got myself another can and continued taking photos.
That’s just about all that happened the whole day. They swam, I took photos. All over the leisure park. Photos of rusty metals, old water drums, empty playgrounds, and the family. I maxed out the camera’s memory once, and I drained out the battery once. Good thing I had secondary storage devices and chargers in tow for the trip.
Overall, I think my time was better spent out on the trip. Too bad Fontana’s wireless internet connection was crappy, otherwise it would have been the perfect photography trip.
