Whapakk Weekly Soundtrip 10.
Sunday, June 21, 2009 9:3610. Kjwan – One Look. Woh-woh-woh. One Look sneaks into my playlist like a drugged burglarat creeping into your loose pants. I have a love/no-care relationship with Kjwan’s music and this happens to be on the no-care side of things. How it showed up here, I’ve no idea. So, I’m just going to scream: “Hey, someone hacked into my blog account! Someone’s messing up with my files and entries and links! Fuck!” I’m going to scream like so until somebody notices and tells me that I’m just like every other whiner who screams fuck-hackers when it’s all because I forgot what my new password is.
9. Flobots – Handlebars. I am invicible. Like Michael Jackson, yo. No, I take that back. I say now: invincible like Robert Pattinson. (But isn’t that worse than MJ?)
8. The Happy Meals – Hop Jump. Jorel used to say (a lot, actually) back in the younger days of the HMP (Happy Meal Power) Yahoo! Group: ngok ngok ngok. I don’t know why. But it’d later become his signature laugh on his email blasts to all listers. Hop Jump is one of their more polished songs, and I like it very much, thank you.
7. Weezer – Troublemaker. My mom used to call me Badji because I was a bad kid. I used to have this very short temper when it came to people, and I was as antisocial as Nike is into Kobe Bryant. Do you understand what I’m saying? No? It-doesn’t-matter! Smackdown’s coming back to Manila and I don’t care, I’m not watching, and I think they’d be selling loads of WWE shirts (again) at Gateway.
6. The Hoosiers – Lovestoned. Back to Zed. Is Zed really dead? He’s the gay rapist cop, right? What, by the time Butch got home, he was assumed dead? (Why am I talking about this here?)
5. Stijn – Gasoline & Matches. Last night on the news, there was another reported explosion because of a mishandled LPG tank. No one was killed, fortunately, but a number of people got second and third-degree burns on their bodies. Sometimes, the human mind fails to fill in what technology lacks in intellect.
4. Sublime – Santeria. I don’t know: this week, spacing out means feeling in the mood for white sand and clear, blue waters. “I just wanna go to the beach,” Raymund Marasigan says in Sandwich’s hit, Sunburn. Speaking of Sandwich, they’re up on the list’s top 3.
3. Sandwich – Manila. We are up to something. We save our money for ourselves. We are up to something and we’ll be bucksing you out of business, you, you, you androids! I do not want to make sense, I really don’t! Peace, donkey!
2. Jason Mraz – I’m Yours. I want to be disconnected from this song as soon as possible.
1. Kid Cudi – Day n’ Nite. Because I’m feeling: loose, lousy, creative, and lonely all at the same time. Was it 89.9 or 93.1? Whatever. Thanks for playing the song. Thanks for pushing me back to my stupid corner and forcing me to write crap on my shitty notebook.
(Every weekend I’ll be posting the top 10 most played tracks on my playlist just because. Should you want to hear the songs, I’ve got a Last.fm widget somewhere on the sidebar to the right where you can likely listen to the songs I’ve recently played and probably a handful of the tracks listed above.)
