Figaro at Bonifacio High Street.

Figaro at Bonifacio High Street.

I thought about not trying Figaro’s spaghetti because, well, I thought that if one wanted to have pasta for lunch, he’d look for a nice Italian restaurant to get it, and not some coffee shop. I’m glad I snapped out of that hesitation and spent my noon just one floor below our office, where Figaro Bonifacio High Street is located.

Spaghetti allArrabbiata.

Spaghetti all'Arrabbiata.

I’d go straight to the point here. The pasta was good. Not as good as Fazoli’s, but on par with Sbarro. No meatball, no meat sauce. But the closest one Figaro offers, the Spaghetti all’Arrabbiata, really made my lunch. Seriously.

I wonder which Figaro drink complements this spaghetti the best? (I have to note, though, that I’m not a big Figaro Coffee fan, especially not when I’m at the office and my favorite coffee joint’s just about fifteen meters away from this one.)

Cakes and muffins go well with Figaros coffee selections.

I wanted to go for a cake after my spaghetti (now I know that goes really well with their coffee), but I had to rush back to the office to do more work. I feel like I’m such a loser. Maybe that’s why I’m spaghetti-joint-hopping. (Not! I’m really enjoying this.)

The verdict. My lunch wasn’t so filling, but that’s just me. I think for most people, that bowl of noodles would be enough. The 169-peso tag for a bowl of Figaro’s Spaghetti all’Arrabbiata seems fair enough, so I’m rating this one a 7.5 out of 10. Why did I rate it better than Sbarro (Market! Market! branch)? Because Bonifacio High Street is such a great place to chill in (Figaro BHS deserves a half-point just because of that, I think; don’t argue).

(The Spaghetti Journal is a two-week long hunt for the best good old spaghetti recipe at the Fort Bonifacio area and Eastwood City, where the author works and lives, respectively.)

For me, I still pretty much prefer spaghetti with meatballs. But as long as the sauce is good, then it’s fine for me. The place seems nice to chill at & the cakes looks delicious though. :)

@Eudora: Yeah, we’re quite blessed with our office location. And you’re right, the cakes are delicious! There are plenty of nice dessert places within the same area (Fort Bonifacio). Should you decide to visit Manila, just holler and we’ll take you around.

Hello, there! I’m a new visitor and bloghopped my way to your site, and I’m so glad I came across your spaghetti reviews! I am a spaghetti addict but it’s usually TOSH, Sbarro, or my mother’s (which is the best spaghetti in the whole wide world, I swear). I love Figaro, but I’ve never tried their pasta. I think it’s about time I did.

Adding you up on Google Reader. :D

@Dea: Hey, thanks for dropping by. Yeah, I guess we’re all biased in favor of our moms’ pasta. And yeah, Figaro’s spaghetti may not be the best spaghetti here at Bonifacio High Street, but it’s really worth trying. You might even like it more than I did.
