Green Christmas.

My aunts decided that this year, we’d have a D-Generation X-themed Christmas reunion, and at the Orila family’s house, everyone showed up in green shirts and dresses. It’s a family tradition for everyone to get together every December 25, and the catch is everyone has to follow a certain theme in dressing up. To be honest, I hated it, but then again, I’d rather not break tradition and risk getting nailed to a cross should I not comply lah. (That DX reference was a lame joke, by the way.)

The girls of the family (most of them, at least).

How'd my little brother get to be such a pimp at such a young age?

Thanks to everyone for the gifts!

Thanks to everyone for the gifts!

What makes this Christmas special for everyone is that, in agreement to what Tita Butching said before giving away the gifts to everyone, was that we have a lot to be thankful for. Most of our family members live in the Marikina/Antipolo area, and almost everyone of us was devastated by Ondoy. We lost a lot during the floods, and yes, she is spot on when she said we should be thankful that no one was injured then.

In that respect, I am proud of my family for staying strong (and sane) through it all. (You don’t hear that from me everyday.)

With that, I say Merry Christmas to everyone and enjoy the last twenty minutes of this 25th of December! Next up: New Year parties! Rock yo!
