That such an event should happen just meters away from our doorstep was really cool. Truth is, I wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t at Eastwood Mall, since by the time I got home Friday night, I was feeling feverish and wanted to lie down and die for half a day in preparation for a Saturday morning event.

However, since it was just downstairs, I decided, “Hell yeah, I’m seeing Gloc-9 and Kat Agarrado on stage tonight!”

Some awards of note: Marcus Davis won the Best Male Soul/R&B Artist award, Amber Davis won the Best Female Soul/R&B Artist award, Billy Crawford won the Male Style Icon award, Mainit won Best Video honors, and Taas Noo by Amber Davis and Gloc-9 won the Best Original Song award.

It was a great awards night packed with performances from local hiphop and R&B artists, and here are a couple of them:

This guy is freaking amazing: I’ve seen him once at a private party, and this time I’m not going to let the night pass without taking photos and videos of him performing up on stage. Rock!

He performed a long set and while I wasn’t able to catch everything on video, here are the few I was able to capture:

I haven’t been really myself the whole week. The two-week trip outside the country has left me stressed out and hung over; add to that the workload that has to be attended to and the reality that this is where I work, and this is where I belong.

Thursday I tried to shuffle things up a bit and get back into the lifestyle I’m so used to (read: Mag:net Cafe High Street, where S.P.I.T. performed back-to-back with an acoustic sing-along program). It wasn’t the same. I still felt like I had to shake off the chains that binds me from the kind of focus I really need right now. It came to the point when I really wanted to pick a fight with someone at the bar just because he looked like he’s looking for one.

Friday wasn’t much. I missed chicken inasal, so I had one of my favorite meals for dinner last night. It tasted different, for some reason. (I could have been better satisfied by some more of that durian pancakes Tim treated us too on our first day in KL.)

I walked around Bonifacio High Street and Eastwood City for photos, but it made me miss Singapore. It was much, much different. Last night’s photo walk was depressing instead of exciting. I just wasn’t in the mood. And it didn’t help that it was Chicosci up on stage last night. I never liked the band, and yet I forced myself to walk around the perimeter and try to take photos of them screaming their lungs out.

So, I don’t know. I have to revive my passion for work come Monday. (Have I just been too angry the past few days?)

My New Office Away from the Office.

Just got back from Kuala Lumpur and guess what, my official address now reads: Quezon City. We’ve moved to Eastwood! Which means I had to set out this morning to look for a permanent corner at a coffee shop which I’ll be using during holidays (like today) and weekends to work. I didn’t have to look far, because the Eastwood Mall branch of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is just across the street from our building.

The nearest coffee shop happened to be one of my favorite ones.

So what does the move to Eastwood mean for me? I think it’s going to be a very different lifestyle from here on out, because of all the expensive shops and restaurants here at Eastwood Mall (and I have to add, the same can be said about my office, which is situated right smack in the middle of Bonifacio High Street).

Damn all these temptations. Like now, I could have just grabbed a sandwich at home for breakfast, but I opted to go for a yummy-looking blueberry muffin from CB&TL. And a chai tea latte on top of that to complete the meal.
