I’m no good at this. Fuck yeah!

Sorry to disappoint the well-wishers and those who supported my business plans, but I’ve decided to shelf it for another time in favor of another opportunity that popped up out of nowhere. Thinking about my long term plans, maybe this will pay off. I was so far from being equipped with enough ammunition to bring my plans to life, anyway, so I decided to get into what I tried to do right after graduation: sales.

Working with Nuffnang Philippines here at Bonifacio High Street brings a few benefits:

1. There’s also a Fully Booked store nearby, but now it’s much, much closer.

2. Coffeeshops are all over the place: Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, Figaro, another Starbucks, and my favorite doughnut joint: Krispy Kreme.

3. High Street’s afternoons during workdays are a lot better than Greenbelt’s: not a lot of people drive here just to chill out. It’s a lot less accessible for everyone else, but those who stay here by default like us reap all the benefits of quality shops and restaurants and hang-out spots without having to deal with the crowd.

4. The Fort Strip’s just a short walk (and a shorter drive) away, Mag:net Cafe’s a 10-second sprint away. Enough with C. Palanca street. Crowd or no crowd, nightlife’s way better out here.

5. Parking here only costs about half the usual Makati rates.

6. Driving to the office takes less than an hour. Without the rush hour traffic, I can beat 20 minutes effortlessly.

On to other things, there’s a Facebook group named “1,000,000 Vote Chip Tsao to give public apology to all Filipinos,” and while I seriously doubt the number of members would get anywhere near the 1 million mark, it’s an interesting (if not entertaining) take on the issue. They’ve got several hate photos up and one of those (uploaded by a certain J. Javellana) is:

Last I checked they have 5,621 members and 554 hateful wall posts. Check the group out to see what’s cooking.

I think I got lucky.

I don’t usually follow chain Facebook posts, but this one was too inviting to ignore.

That said, here are the mechanics:

1. Go to Wikipedia. Hit “Random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. Go to “Random Quotations” or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3. Go to Flickr and click on “Explore the last seven days” or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5. Post it on Facebook and tag the friends you want to join in.

Have fun; I couldn’t get enough of it that I decided to make four more of this shit.
